Hello,

a bit about me:

Central Washington University Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising major and Retail Management and Technology minor.

Education

I began my educational journey knowing my love for the fashion industry would be the direction of my future career path but I was unsure how this was possible.  After spending some time searching for an educational direction to help me achieve my career goals, The Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising major at Central Washington University proved to be the perfect fit for me.  I attended CWU for two years, earning a Bachelor’s in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising and a minor in Retail Management and Technology.  This has provided me with the ideal mixture of business and fashion.  I have taken classess that help me better understand the depth of retail management and the business side of it, while also learning about the fashion world and the many layers the industry has.  I feel that my education puts me at an advantage in the fashion industry because of the broad spectrum of classes I had the opportunity to take.

Personal Strengths

I believe that my personal strengths lie within the fashion industry.  When it comes to this industry, I have noticed that one must be fast-paced, organized, hard-working, and always willing to learn.  Although education is extremely important, it’s the ability to catch on quickly, cope with change, and work hard that will really help make a name for yourself. I know that I have the hands-on work experience that defines how I operate in the fashion industry and has made me the employee and individual I am today.  I work hard and can easily adapt to change.  I ask many questions because I am a perfectionist and always want to do the absolute best I can.  I pay close attention to detail while still maintaining a steady and consistent pace.  I love organization and consistency and both can be expected of me.  I also pride myself in being creative and having an eye for fashion.  I am very aware of current fashion trends and stay up-to-date on the industry news.  I am always willing and eager to learn.

Values

My values stem from the way I was raised by my kind and fair parents.  I was always taught to treat everyone equally no matter their personal beliefs, their sexuality, or their skin color.  I find a way to respect anyone and everyone because I want every person to feel loved in my presence.  I believe every opinion matters and I will always take advice or criticism with humility.  I believe in fairness and respect but also that one must work hard to earn both of those.

Technical Knowledge

My education has blessed me with the knowledge of many technical skills.  I am able to navigate and use Adobe applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.  With these applications I have created tech packs, line sheets, textile patterns, drawings, many creative posters, and more.  I also am very skilled at Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.  I have created spreadsheets and took multiple IT classes that have honed in on my Excel skills.  I have written many papers and created presentations using Word and Powerpoint and have always recieved high grades on these projects. I hope to continue advancing my knowledge in all of these applications.
